Kmart shoppers have bonded online over a cheap but 'useless' laundry product, with many sending out a word of warning to those looking to become lint-free. If that's you, read on, because you may save yourself some precious dollars. Admittedly, not many dollars, but everything counts these days given the cost of living, right?

If you find yourself stressed over your clothes collecting lint or hair, then reading this article could save you the cost of your next morning coffee, but having said that, some people have been divided about the $4 item from Kmart saying it has worked effectively... well, for their pets anyway.

The product in question is Kmart's set of four 'lint catchers', with the item's description saying the item is designed to "catch all the lint and stray hair from your clothes and prevent it from blocking your washing machine".

When one person asked if the lint catchers were worth it and did their job properly, the replies came in thick and fast and, well, your $4 may be better off going towards two Kinder Buenos (when they're on special, anyway).

"Crapola," was one creative description, provided by a shopper about the lint gadget.

A resounding number of people said the product wasn't worth the cheap cost, with many deeming it 'useless'. "I don’t think ours caught a single piece of lint, not worth it at all," one person ranted. "Absolutely useless. Waste of money," another agreed.

One person posted about it on TikTok, admitting the lint catcher didn't do an "amazing" job, but gave it a 6/10 ranking.

"I use them in the dryer and they work really well. Don't work as well on the washing machine," one person pointed out. "It's the only thing that comes out of my Dad's top loader with no hair on it!!" one person joked.

While the product didn't get rave reviews for actually working inside the washing machine, other shoppers pointed out that the lint catchers worked great outside of the machine, particularly when it came to collecting pet hair.

"Used them to get dog hair out of my couch instead," one person said. "I find them really effective for cat hair," another agreed.

"They work great on the lounge to scrape off hair," someone else said. "Surprisingly when washed the fur just comes straight off and they dry and remain sticky for next use."

Another shopper came in for a solution for those left wondering what to do. "I have some from Bunnings that do a decent job! My partner and I both work in healthcare so can’t have pet hair on us and we use the Bunnings ones in the machine and then the lint balls from Kmart in the dryer and it seems to work!" they said.

Not all is lost!
