The $20 Kmart jeans taking over Instagram

While the days may be finally heating up, we’re definitely not ready for jeans season to be over - and it looks like we’re not alone.

Last week, influencers from all over the country (and Yahoo Lifestyle Australia) were invited to the Calile Hotel, an ‘urban retreat’ in the heart of Brisbane, to celebrate the launch of Kmart’s new Summer Daze spring/summer apparel collection.

It was clear from the outset what the standout item was from the new line, with a whole heap of the Kmart bloggers sporting the same piece of clothing for the occasion.

The winning piece was the crisp white, ¾ wide leg jeans with a raw hem - which at $20, comes in as a complete bargain.

In fact, the jeans were so popular that when Kmart invited everyone to pick out an outfit from a gifting suite at the event, there was such a scramble for the jeans that by the time I got to the rack they had completely gone.

I don’t blame the influencers for their enthusiasm around the new collection, especially the chic-looking white jeans.

Sydney influencer Dani, who goes by the handle @luxeandlemonade on Instagram, even posted a price comparison of similar jeans from other retailers online.

Glue Store sell a nearly identical pair for $219, General Pants have a $90 pair on the racks and Maje are selling a white pair of cropped jeans for $225.
