Kmart $5.50 genius hack hailed as a game-changer: 'What a great idea'
The creative use for a simple storage container is being hailed as the ultimate mum snack hack.
In a brilliant stroke of creativity, Kmart has once again proven itself as a haven for clever mum hacks. The latest game-changer? A humble plastic organiser with divided compartments from Kmart's stationery department—that looks suspiciously like a tackle box—ingeniously repurposed by one mum into a family snack box.
The innovative mum showcased her lunch box brilliance in the Aldi Mums Facebook group, revealing her nifty twist on a $5.50 plastic container from Kmart. The result is a snack box brimming with delicious goodies from Aldi, all curated on a budget.

The inventive snack box hack received an enthusiastic response from fellow parents on social media.
"What a great idea!" exclaimed one mum, while another added "My son is a snacker, so would prefer this over a proper lunch."
Others joined the conversation offering practical applications, recommending, "Great for car snacks!" Another even shared a unique twist, mentioning they had used a similar organiser as a grazing box during a nine-hour flight.
The concept found further appeal as people loved the idea for various purposes, from storing treats and creating DIY advent calendars for children and grandchildren, to serving as travel storage for jewellery.
However, not everyone was sold on the idea as a regular foods storage solution, as some raised concerns about using a non-food-grade box for transporting edibles.
"These are BPA-free but they aren't food-grade," cautioned one person, emphasising potential health risks, especially in warm weather.
Another offered a solution, suggesting the purchase of a food-safe version for daily use.
