Kmart $10 dish hack people are going bonkers for: 'Genius!'

Sometimes it's a simple change of purpose that can make all the difference. That's what one poster found when she shared on Facebook a quick and easy repurpose she had discovered in Kmart that made cleaning up in the kitchen that little bit easier.

"Got this for my sink however it also works great as an extra rack for the large utensils in the dishwasher," poster Yvette shared on the Kmart Home Decor & Hacks Australia page on Facebook. "$10 thx Kmart."

And while it was a simple hack, in just 24 hours Yvette got 2,400 likes on her post and almost 300 comments!

"I love this.....I have one for my sink, never thought about the dishwasher," one follower wrote.

Many of the Aussies in the group either praised the addition of a cutlery drawer at the top of their dishwasher or bemoaned the fact that theirs didn't have one, so were thrilled to learn this little hack.

"You are a GENIUS!!! I have this and sometimes I wish I had an extra compartment in the dishwasher!!!!!" one person said

"Brilliant! I would never have thought to use one of these as an extra shelf in the dishwasher," another wrote.

"I actually bought the dish drying rack a few weeks ago for my sink," Yvette told Yahoo Lifestyle. "It's a little big for my sink so I wasn't really using it after all.

"Then I saw a post on another mums page about a mum that had a brand new dishwasher that had a pull-out rack at the top for larger utensils and container lids.

"Wishing I had one like that as we are always trying to find a spot for all these larger utensils in our dishwasher, I thought I might be able to find a rack that fits across the top," the mum of two from Brisbane revealed.

"I was going to try a cake cooling tray but it wasn't long enough, then I remembered the dish drying rack I bought from Kmart a few weeks ago. I was so surprised that it fitted across the top of the dishwasher perfectly. It's so versatile as well as being cheap and effective," she added.

With so many people loving the idea though, you may have to be quick to pick one up at Kmart if you want to try it out at home.

"Lol these are going to be sold out everywhere now," one follower said, and she may be right!
