An Aussie woman has found a genius solution to store all her crafting tools using a $10 item from Kmart.
Jo-Ellen uses a Cricut - which is a precision cutting machine that can be used to create custom stickers, cake toppers, cards and even iron-on designs for clothes - but needed a home for all her tools and accessories.
She ended up repurposing a $10 jewellery stand she found at Kmart and using that to hang and display all her Cricuting bits and bobs in a neat and easy to reach way.
Sharing her hack on a Facebook group, she said, “This Kmart jewellery hanger is perfect for all of the Cricut tools and fits amazingly on them with plenty of room for extra and only $10”.
The post quickly picked up 1,400 likes and hundreds of enthusiastic comments from people wanting to rush out and do the same.
“I knew someone would have an amazing idea for these,” one person commented, and another said, “What a great idea!! I love it, might need to get one myself”.

A third person wrote, “Oh holey crap. I just got one of these today for my bedroom, I think it will now be going in my craft room!”
Cricut enthusiasts end up needing a fair bit of storage space for their crafting projects, not so much for the actual machine and its tools, but for the materials they use to create their masterpieces.
The most commonly used materials are adhesive vinyl, which can be used to make wall decals, labels, signs for events etc, cardstock, which is for making paper models, cards, cake toppers etc, and iron-on vinyl, which can be used to create a custom design for anything that’s made out of fabric, like clothes, cushions, doona covers etc.
The issue is that these materials come in just about every colour under the sun, so in no time at all you end up with a surplus collection of vinyl and cardstock that you can call on whenever a new project springs to mind - as long as you can find a place to store them.
A few clever storage solutions have been posted on the same Australian Facebook page including this $67 set of 24 clear shoe boxes that one person converted into colour coded Cricut material storage space.
She even used her Cricut to make the colour-coordinated labels for the front of each storage compartment!
For a more slimline solution, another person repurposed a $179 IKEA STÄLL shoe cabinet and was able to fit a whopping 72 rolls of vinyl in each of the three draws.
There are also slightly cheaper versions of the same cabinet around including this three-draw unit from Kogan for $132.
Another smart hack is to use kids slap bracelets to hold rolls of vinyl together. Slap bracelets curl around the roll to keep it from unfurling, and unlike tape, don’t leave sticky marks.
The idea came from American Cricuter DIYholic who posted the hack on her TikTok page. These plain white slap bracelets are 21cm long and come in a 42 pack for $34.
She also uses clear plastic shoe boxes to store her vinyl rolls and has a few other great ideas like using an expanding file folder to keep her vinyl scrap pieces and using a binder ring to keep all her Cricut tools together and hang them in one place.
