Kim Kardashian Critics Slam Reality Star for Bold Political Message

On Monday, Jan 20, Kim Kardashian sent a bold political message—and critics quickly slammed the reality TV star for her post amid Donald Trump's 2025 inauguration.

The SKIMS founder took to her Instagram Story during the early afternoon hours on Inauguration Day 2025. Although she shared no words, Kardashian posted a photo of Melania Trump wearing her inauguration outfit.

Soon afterward, social media users called out the mom of four on X.

One person wrote, "Kim kardashian posted a photo of melania trump? Yeah its clear who she voted for."

Another X user shared, "idk why i still followed kim kardashian honestly but her posting a pic of melania at the inauguration on her story was like immediate unfollow bye you out of touch psychopath."

Someone else pointed out, "Kim K posting Melanie [sic] is not surprising lmfao. The silence was very telling during the election."

Meanwhile, a different user commented on a different X post, "It’s time we realize their whole family are republicans and we shouldn’t support any of them."

However, some folks on X pointed out that Kim's message may have been more about fashion than politics, as President Trump was not included in the photo.

One X user wrote, "Just as usual Kim Kardashian on the news again. When she vividly cropped that felon out to admire only Melania's fashion Well y'all will be okay!"

Another agreed, sharing, "kim kardashian posting melania doesn’t make her a trump supporter.. we all can recognize melania looked kvnt idc."

Yet another X user speculated, "I think @KimKardashian was trying to give Melania fashion cred cause she’s not exactly a favourite of the industry…"

It's worth noting that Kardashian did not publicly endorse a candidate during the 2024 election. She did, however, post three blue heart emojis on X after President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris' 2020 win over Trump—despite her (now ex) husband, Kanye West, voicing support for Trump.

Parade has reached out to Kardashian's reps, but did not immediately hear back.
