Kim Kardashian Admits She's 'Conflicted' on Daughter North's Career: 'It's Like Her or Me'
Kim Kardashian is feeling a bit torn these days when it comes to the fledgling career of North, her oldest daughter.
The reality TV star opened up about some of her difficult emotions in a promotional video that her show, The Kardashians, posted on Instagram on Wednesday, Feb. 5. The show’s newest season premieres on Thursday, Feb. 6.
“I thought I was busy before,” the SKIMS co-founder said in a clip that showed her chatting with her mom, Kris Jenner, and younger sister, Khloé Kardashian. “North—me having to be her momager right now—is crazy.”
Jenner, who played the “momager” role for her own daughters for years, looked on knowingly. “It’s a lot of work,” Jenner agreed.
“It was not on my bingo card for this year,” Kim, 44, admitted.
Khloé, 40, weighed in with her thoughts on the matter as she declared, “I would not be in the mood.”
As their conversation continued, Kim admitted that she did not feel “ready” to tackle the managerial responsibilities linked with her daughter’s growing career.
“If she has a shoot, it’s like, I have to be there all day,” Kim said. “So it’s like, her or me.”
At 11, North is the oldest of four children that Kim shares with her ex-husband, rapper Kanye West. The two also have sons Saint, 9, and Psalm, 5, and daughter Chicago, 7.
As the child of two very famous parents, North has had career opportunities much earlier than most. Over the last couple of years, she embraced acting roles on the stage and screen and was also featured on some of her father’s new music releases.
Kim reflected more on those opportunities in a separate confessional that was also included with the show’s promotional video released on Wednesday. “I’m really conflicted on my daughter’s career,” Kim admitted. “I just really want to make sure that everything’s really well balanced. All of the work experiences are balanced out with just enough fun life experiences."
"I just want balance," she reiterated.
