Long before he was mouthing off as Succession's Roman Roy or getting actors high as an unruly teen actor, Kieran Culkin made his onscreen debut as Home Alone's soda-chugging, bed-wetting Fuller McCallister. And apparently, he'd love to tell you all about it.

According to Jesse Eisenberg, Culkin's A Real Pain costar and director, the actor has still not tired of discussing the 1990 comedy.

“What Kieran loves more than anything is for people to go up to him when they meet him and talk about Home Alone," Eisenberg recently told PEOPLE, while walking the National Board of Review Awards Gala red carpet.

The Social Network star also confirmed that during their time as colleagues, he personally seized the chance to chat with Culkin about his Home Alone days. Asked whether he considers himself a "super fan" of the Christmas classic, Eisenberg quipped, “Well, I mean, who isn't at my age?”

To Eisenberg's point, the Chris Columbus–directed film was a blockbuster hit when it arrived in theaters 35 years ago. It grossed $476.7 million worldwide, becoming the second-highest-grossing film of that year behind Ghost. Along with launching the career of Kieran's brother, Macaulay Culkin, the film eventually spawned five sequels, the latest being 2021's Home Sweet Home Alone.

Despite all those life-changing implications, Kieran has since admitted that he had "no idea" what the movie was about when they were filming. He only put the pieces together when he finally watched the story unfold in a theater.

"I was at the premiere, and I was dying laughing," Culkin told the Los Angeles Times in December. "It was the funniest thing I had ever seen. I had no idea what the movie was about."

Eisenberg, sitting beside Culkin for the joint-interview, was astonished to hear this. “How could no one explain to you? You’re on set 15 hours a day,” he pointed out. Culkin, who was only 7 when Home Alone was filmed, argued that he didn't exactly need a detailed synopsis to fulfill his role.

"'Drink this Coke, wear the glasses, say the thing that you memorized, look cute and go home,'" he replied. "Devin Ratray, the guy who plays Buzz, lied to me and told me the movie was all about him. And I believed him. And then when I saw it, the movie’s cracking me up, and I go, 'Mac was on set all the time. That makes sense the movie would be about him.'"

Though Culkin has since become a fan of the film himself, he admits that he has yet to share the holiday classic with his kids, 5 and 3, whom he shares with wife Jazz Charton.

“There’s still some scary parts,” he told E! in December. “For the 3-year-old, there’s the tarantula [and] there’s the guy at the end who said, ‘I’m gonna bite off all your fingers.’ That’s scary for a 3-year-old."

But 2025 may finally be the year — if 2024 wasn't already. "We think they might be ready for Home Alone this year," he added. "If not, next year."
