Kendra Wilkinson, 39, Claps Back at Body-Shaming Comments: Not a ‘Playboy Girl’ Anymore
The reality alum says, “Yes, I’m aging,” as she tells commentators ”hating on my new weight” to “leave me alone”
Kendra Wilkinson took aim at body shamers, saying while she’s gained weight, she’s “happy, healthy and at peace.”
In a Jan. 12 Instagram post, the former Playboy star posted a mirror selfie, replying to body shamers in the caption.
“Yes, I’ve gained weight. Yes, im aging. Yes, I’m not that girl i was before (playboy girl) 🤣 but for once in a long time I feel good and mentally healthy,” said Wilkinson, now 39, who was just 18 when she first moved into the Playboy Mansion. Her time with late Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and his other girlfriends, Bridget Marquardt and Holly Madison, was chronicled on E! reality show, The Girls Next Door, which debuted in 2005.
She’s since ventured into real estate, chronicling her career as an agent in the MAX reality show Kendra Sells Hollywood.
Wilkinson continued to address her critics in her Instagram post, writing, “For those of you hating on my new weight, 40 yr old face please know that I’m happy, healthy and at peace in life finally. Leave me alone and respect that I’m where I actually want to be finally all together.”
“Almost 40 is feeling amazing and yes to the people criticizing my alcohol intake…I hear you and that will be monitored better. Drinking too much is definitely drinking too much but you know what’s coming up in JUNE…. Shots. 😂,” she added, a reference to her 40th birthday on June 12.
Wilkinson, who shares two children, daughter Alijah Mary Baskett, 10, son Hank Randall Baskett IV, 15, with her ex-husband Hank Baskett, also talked about her kids, saying, “Kids are my everything. Feeling pretty balanced. Working out and cooking a lot more. Golf, work,” she wrote, adding that she’s a hands-on mom: “No housekeeper or nanny.”
Her clapback earned positive comments from her fans — including one from singer Meghan Trainor, who wrote, "I know you probably don’t remember me, but you and I met about 9-10 years ago in LA. We had lunch together… I thought you were beautiful inside and out then and I still do now."
Dumb Blonde podcast host Bunnie XO, also chimed in, writing, “Anyone that’s remotely successful in their life doesn’t have time tear another person down. Remember that shug ❤️.”
