Kelly Ripa’s Kids Mistook Her ‘Chicken Cutlet’ for Jellyfish When It Fell Out of Her Bathing Suit

The TV host said that her breast pad "floated" in the ocean, making her kids Lola and Michael think it was a sea creature

Wardrobe malfunction!

Kelly Ripa recounted a hilarious mishap involving her swimsuit that happened during a beach vacation with her family. On the Tuesday, July 16, episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, the star was lamenting losing a pair of Tom Ford sunglasses — and one of her "chicken cutlets" — in the ocean.

"We go on vacation and I wear them into the water and I get hit with a wave from behind and my expensive sunglasses are immediately knocked off my face," Ripa, 53, recalled. "Also, believe it or not, one of the chicken cutlets came out of my [top]. I lost a chicken cutlet."

"They float," Consuelos, 53, interjected.

"The kids thought it was a jellyfish. They’re like, ‘Jellyfish!’ I’m like, ‘No get that, that’s expensive!’" said Ripa.

"I remember when you used to put those down — flap, the noise they would make," Consuelos added. "Flap!"

"You know when women get irritated, they take off their bra," Ripa replied. "Like, you’re done with dinner and the bra comes off? With me it’s like, I would reach in, he’d be like, ‘What are you doing?’ I’d be like, ‘I’m just sick of it’ [mimes taking her breast pads out of her bra and throwing them on the table]. Flap flap!"

The former soap actress also shared that the following year, she was back at the same vacation spot with a friend, who miraculously found the Tom Ford sunglasses she had previously lost.

"We’re just standing there waist high water," she recalled. "She’s digging around and all of a sudden she pulls up my Tom Ford sunglasses — minus a lens, but still, my Tom Ford sunglasses. Which I took and had the lens replaced, and then price per wear, I got my wear out of them."

Ripa and Consuelos recently shared about their trip to Switzerland to visit their daughter, Lola, who they say "goes there quite a bit."

"I totally get it," Ripa added.

"Hats off to the people in Switzerland," Consuelos added. "We were only in one city, but it's the cleanest. It's so clean."

Lola, 23, lives in London and has a British boyfriend. Ripa and Consuelos also share sons Michael, 27, and Joaquin, 21.
