Lorelai and Emily Gilmore are back together again!

Gilmore Girls
stars Lauren Graham, 57, and Kelly Bishop, 80, reunited on Sept. 17 at 92NY in New York City, where Graham moderated a discussion about Bishop’s new memoir The Third Gilmore Girl.

In a TikTok posted by 92NY, Graham and Bishop can be seen backstage with their arms around each other, before Bishop walks onstage. Graham then waits in the wings before she’s announced as a special, surprise guest.

“Only one thing, for me, that would make it more special: if there was another Gilmore girl,” Bishop tells the crowd in a TikTok posted by her publisher, Gallery Books. Graham then walks onstage, and the two hug each other as the audience applauds.

Graham and Bishop played a mother-daughter duo — with Graham as the fast-talking Lorelai and Bishop as her no-nonsense mother, Emily — on the beloved CW show, which aired from 2000 to 2007. And though Lorelai and Emily often butted heads throughout the series, Bishop and Graham were beyond excited to see each other again in real life.

“I feel so happy and proud,” Graham said onstage. “This book is just incredible, you are just incredible. Any excuse to see you — but to be here together is just something I would never miss.”

“Every day, I’m so lucky I get to be your pretend daughter,” Graham said before the two embraced in another TikTok.

“We were just so comfortable with each other,” Bishop told PEOPLE of Herrmann. “I might've done one or two episodes that he wasn't in … but it was when I went back, I'd have the script before I even got there and [I’d] know that I was working with him again.”

The actress, who had a real life love story with her late husband, ESPN and CNN host Lee Leonard, is also reflecting on her career with gratitude.

"What impressed me probably about the whole thing is how very, very fortunate I've been, not only in the jobs I've gotten, but what happened to those jobs," Bishop said. “I wasn't looking for a gift. I was looking for an interesting job … I've been very, very fortunate.”
