Keith Urban Shares Blunt Opinion on Taylor Swift's 'Brutal' Experience With Fame
Keith Urban thinks Taylor Swift is finally getting her "Karma."
While she may be one of the biggest names in the music industry now, Urban knows it wasn't always that easy for Swift, 34, who has experienced her fair share of trials and tribulations.
Urban, 56, made a point to remind fans about the hardship Swift overcame during a new interview published Friday, Sept. 20.
"It feels like now people have long forgotten all of the s--t she had to go through," the "Blue Ain't Your Color" crooner told U.K. newspaper The Times. "It's been remarkable watching Taylor grow in public because it's pretty brutal."
During the interview, Urban referenced Swift's performance at the 2010 Grammy Awards, something he remembered being "sub-par," as he recalled "critics slamming her" for it.
But according to Urban, it has only made the "Fortnight" singer "stronger."
"Just trial by fire over and over—and always getting stronger for it," he said while further applauding how far Swift has come.

Urban and Swift's relationship goes way back, as the "Cruel Summer" songstress opened for Urban while he was on tour in 2009—and even then, he knew she was destined for greatness.
"When she opened for us, I watched her perform and I'm like, 'Oh, this girl has her sights way past this thing."
And Urban was certainly right, as Swift became a massive superstar, winning 14 Grammys (so far) and playing hundreds of sold-out shows across the globe.
Most recently, Swift embarked on The Eras Tour, a 3.5 hour-long concert that takes fans through each of her studio albums. To call it a "success" would be an understatement, as Swift has already broken numerous records with the international tour, which will soon continue through the end of the year.
