In the Oct. 10 episode of WBNA star Angel Reese's Unapologetically Angel podcast, Kayla talked about the "pettiest thing she has done in a relationship," which involved a past relationship with a superstar athlete and his new singer/actor girlfriend.
"We weren't in [a] relationship, but this is probably one of my favorite crazy Kayla stories because I don't have that many," Kayla said. "But I'm a Scorpio, and I have that crazy in me, though."
"I was dating a guy, and he dumped me through a text message, and he dumped me for this singer/actress."
Kayla didn't identify the "singer/actress" in question but said she "was famous at the time."
"Dumped me for her. Lied about it for months, then popped out with her and became this public thing," she said describing them as a "celebrity iconic relationship."
The sports commentator said she was "devastated," "heartbroken," and just moved to New York to be with the unidentified athlete and move in with him.
I know what you're thinking, but Kayla implied that it was not her high-profile athlete ex-boyfriend Travis Kelce, who is currently dating singer/actor Taylor Swift.
But it still might be a "Taylor."
Kayla told Angel the pettiest moment happened when she dressed up as the singer and actor for Halloween the same year she was dumped. "I dressed up as her. I dressed up as that lady for Halloween," she said.
Kayla suggested that viewers wouldn't guess who she was talking about even though she admitted the pictures were "there somewhere" online.
It didn't take long for internet investigators to find the pictures of Kayla dressed as Teyana Taylor from the 2016 Kanye West music video "Fade."

Teyana and Iman were married from 2016 to 2023. They share two young daughters, and as Kayla described, people spoke highly of their relationship back then.
Now, on Oct. 11, Teyana seemingly responded to rumors by flaunting her most recent roles, including roles in Tyler Perry's Straw with Taraji P. Henson, a crime thriller with Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, Paul Thomas Anderson's new movie with Leonardo DiCaprio, Regina Hall and Sean Penn, and a new Ryan Murphy TV series, All's Fair.
The current/future acting credits seem like a response to the "she was famous at the time" comment.
And to top it off, the Instagram carousel was set to Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" with the caption, "I know 2025 gone hate to see a Taylor coming!! ❤️🔥🌹🎥🎬🎞️ 💸", followed by "Me: You did ya big one 🙏🏾 God: AND DID 🤲🏾."
While it's all speculation about who Kayla's talking about, I'll note that Iman and Teyana had been together since 2014.
The "Fade" music video featuring Teyana and Iman didn't come out until 2016.
