Katie Couric Issues Urgent 'Special Announcement' to Fans

Katie Couric has a “special announcement” for her fans after her trip to Las Vegas.

The journalist, 67, inadvertently left some key technology behind at her hotel, leaving her social media in an extended “blackout period” as she wrapped up her trip and made her way home.

The multi-network alum took to Instagram late in the evening on Monday, Dec. 3, using siren emojis to emphasize the direness of the situation and to direct followers to check in with her travel partner and husband, John Molner, for updates. “I left my phone in Vegas! It won’t be back for 36 hours,” she explained.

In a comical follow-up on his Instagram Stories, Molner interviewed his wife over her "breaking news," telling her that the "people want to know what's going on."

With a chagrined smirk, Couric admitted that she left not only her phone but her iPad on a table in their hotel, taking the opportunity to hype up her hubby as she encouraged people to follow him on the social media platform.

"He’s much more fun and much funnier than I am,” she said, calling it “a real treat” for her followers to have been given the opportunity to be introduced to his account.

However, in a second video, she teased Molner by adding, "This is a really pathetic way to get more followers. If you want to unfollow Molner at this juncture, I would not blame you."

As the two were flying—seemingly home to New York—on a private jet, it looks like Couric may not have even realized she was missing the devices until the couple arrived at the airport.

Like many of us these days, Molner hypothesized she'd do "poorly" to "very poorly" without the tech, but, so far, no updates about how she's keeping herself occupied.
