Grey's Anatomy star Kate Walsh accidentally announced her engagement to Aussie farmer Andrew Nixon during an Instagram Live on Wednesday.
The 54-year-old was speaking with her former Private Practice co-star Amy Brenneman to celebrate the show's 15-year anniversary when she outed her secret engagement.
The women were chatting when Kate realises Andrew is walking into the room, with the star saying, "Here comes the jungle cat, that is my fiancé."
She then tells Andrew that she's doing an Instagram Live, with Amy jokingly adding, "Hey Andrew, she just 100 per cent outed your engagement, by the way."
"I did, I just outed our engagement," a gleeful Kate told her very surprised fiancé.
Andrew is part of Nixon Farming, a family farming enterprise in the Moora/New Norcia region and has been farming in the area for over 30 years.
The pair's relationship first went public in February 2021, with Kate reportedly meeting Andrew while on a cruise in 2020 before the pandemic struck.
They have been living together in Perth, Australia, with Kate previously telling The Daily Telegraph in August 2020 that she was "stuck" in the country during the Covid-19 pandemic.
"I didn’t really want to go back to New York in the middle of a pandemic when it was pretty gnarly to say the least," she explained. "I couldn’t go home initially, and now that I can, I don’t really fancy going back."
The star continued, "I have my own mother saying, 'Don’t come home,' my 86-year-old mum. We are in a very challenging time!"
With borders now open, Kate has been splitting her time between Perth and the US so she can continue working on shows such as The Umbrella Academy and Grey's Anatomy.
