Kate Middleton's wardrobe wobble during official appearance
Kate Middleton may be the Duchess of Cambridge and Queen-to-be, but it was a true Cinderella moment that had the royal giggling today after a slight wardrobe malfunction saw her trip up in front of swarms of cameras.
Attending the Shout's Crisis Volunteer Celebration Event with husband Prince William, the mum-of-three looked every inch the cool, calm and collected patron in a chic pair of burgundy trousers paired with a check blazer and black pumps.
The modern twist on business chic, however, took a twist of a different kind when Kate left the event.
A wobbly moment saw the Duchess’ heel fall off momentarily, almost sending her tumbling into the gravel.
A video of the moment shows the Duchess being a typically good sport and laughing off the moment along with William, who couldn’t resist a chuckle himself.
He did, of course, lunge immediately to his wife’s aide, and a momentary look of panic passed over her face as she stumbled.
Fans of the pair loved the moment, gushing over their chemistry and obvious concern for one another.
“William's hand was immediately there to catch her if she would fall,” one person noted.
“So cute both of them,” another agreed.
A tense year for the Windsors
The slip up is a moment of levity in what has been a tumultuous year for the royals.
Just last week, a fed-up Queen Elizabeth was said to have rallied her various offspring for an emergency meeting over a $194 million scandal involving Prince Charles’ famed art collection.
From Prince Andrew’s alleged involvement in the Jeffrey Epstein case, to Harry and Meghan’s private jet debacle, and now the heir himself unwittingly displaying forged art, it looks like 2019 may rival the infamous ‘annus horribilis’ of 1992.
What they wouldn’t give for a few more Cinderella moments indeed.
