Kate Middleton Stepped Out for a Rare Solo Outing After Cancer Remission Announcement

There's no denying that Kate Middleton has an impeccable sense of style, but the princess is very rarely seen actually doing the shopping. Not to mention, after being diagnosed with cancer last year, her outings in general have been few and far between and typically accompanied by a family member. On Wednesday, however, the Princess of Wales was seen flexing her eye for fashion during a solo shopping spree in London.

In photos obtained by social media account Deux Moi, Middleton can be seen browsing at the glasses selection at Finlay, an eyewear boutique. For the excursion, Middleton wore a black robe trench coat with a tie waist and a shin-length hem, layered over gray straight-leg trousers and very unKate-like black boots. In terms of accessories, the princess could be seen wearing what appears to be her heart-shaped earrings from one of her favorite jewelers Kiki McDonough, a taupe Smythson Mini Lytton Crossbody Bag in Ludlow, and what looks to be the gingham scarf from her 43rd birthday tribute.

Despite her less formal 'fit, Middleton styled her brunette hair in her signature bouncy waves and kept her glam minimal.

The outing might indicate that more solo appearances are in the cards for Middleton, who also visited the Royal Marsen Hospital, where she received cancer treatment, by herself earlier this month. At the time of the appearance, Middleton also revealed that she was officially in remission by sharing a statement to the Prince and Princess of Wales' social media accounts announcing that she was in remission.

"My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything," she wrote in the emotional message, before sharing that she is feeling hopeful and looking to the future. "It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focussed on recovery. As anyone who has experienced a cancer diagnosis will know, it takes time to adjust to a new normal. I am however looking forward to a fulfilling year ahead. There is much to look forward to. Thank you to everyone for your continued support."

Middleton returned to her royal duties last year—albeit it at a more manageable pace—and it seems the Princess of Wales is also getting back to some of her favorite hobbies, as well. In addition to doing a little retail therapy, a new report also revealed that Middleton and her husband Prince William took their kids on a secret ski trip after the holidays. The Wales clan was also reportedly joined by Middleton's family during the getaway to the French Alps. According to Mail on Sunday, the royals were spotted sipping on some warm beverages at the restaurant, La Cave des Creux, in Courchevel. "It was lovely to see Kate relaxing and enjoying herself," a restaurant staff member told the outlet. "They looked like a normal English family, and a lot of people didn't recognize them."
