Kate Middleton is slowly returning to royal life after completing chemotherapy last month. Although she has taken on a reduced schedule in recent months, it seems that she is hoping to take on more royal duties in 2025.

According to Prince William, who spoke to the media at the end of his recent trip to Cape Town, South Africa, the pair are hoping that Middleton will be able to join him on some of his royal trips in the coming year. “Hopefully Catherine will be doing a bit more next year, so we’ll have some more trips maybe lined up,” he said, per People.

William is expected to make a trip to South America in fall 2025 to attend the UN Climate Change Conference—it's possible that his wife may join him.

The couple's last overseas trip was last summer when the pair made a surprise appearance at the wedding of Crown Prince Hussein and Saudi architect Rajwa Al Saif in Jordan. Prior to this, the pair paid a visit to the U.S. in November 2022 in for the third Earthshot Prize.

Although Middleton hasn't officially confirmed any royal trips yet, William went on to explain that the pair are committed to taking a different approach to their royal tours.

“I’m trying to do it differently, and I’m trying to do it for my generation,” he said. “I’m doing it with maybe a smaller 'r' in the royal, if you like. It’s more about impact, philanthropy, collaboration, convening and helping people.”

He added: “I’m also going to throw empathy in there as well, because I really care about what I do. It helps impact people's lives. I think we could do with some more empathetic leadership around the world. So that’s what I’m trying to bring, what Catherine is trying to bring as well."

Middleton has already begun to expand her schedule. This weekend, for instance, she attended two official events with William. First, she appeared at the Festival of Remembrance at London's Royal Albert Hall, then, the following day, she appeared on the balcony during the Remembrance Sunday ceremony.
