Kate Middleton Carries Out Biggest Royal Duty Since Battling Cancer
Kate Middleton appears happier than ever to be back in the public eye.
The Princess of Wales was photographed rocking a deep shade of burgundy and some sparkly jewels as she and her husband, Prince William, smiled wide while greeting the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his wife, Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad Al Thani, on the first day of the couple's highly anticipated state visit.

While Kate has made a handful of appearances since announcing she had been diagnosed with an unspecified type of cancer earlier this year, including at the Trooping the Colour parade, the London Ballet, a church service in Scotland, and more recently, the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance, Tuesday's was one of the biggest engagements for the 42-year-old princess to take part in since overcoming some serious health issues.
King Charles III and Queen Camilla were also present for the grand welcoming, seen greeting their visitors separately from the prince and princess in a video uploaded to Instagram.
The Dec. 3 meeting comes just three months after Kate shared a pleasant update with fans on her improved health, announcing that after six months of chemotherapy treatments, she was finished and declared to be in remission.
According to the Daily Mail, she'll continue with today's other royal engagements, too, but will miss out on this evening's State Banquet.
