Kate Middleton bares legs in blizzard
Kate Middleton has a new take on snow-day chic: bare legs and garden prints.
After teaming up earlier in the day with future sister-in-law Meghan Markle — and their respective partners, Prince William and Prince Harry — the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge flew solo Wednesday night for the “Victorian Giants: The Birth of Art Photography” exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
And surprise, surprise, she left her many coats behind, despite a massive blizzard heading for the UK.
The royal, who is expecting her third child in April, decided to ignore the weather and opted for a spring-worthy floral print courtesy of Leith x Orla Kiely’s Margaret bib dress, currently retailing for $408.33.

She paired the frock with a taupe Jimmy Choo clutch and Kiki McDonough pink tourmaline and “green amethyst” earrings, but royal-watchers couldn’t get past the fact that the coatless Middleton was seemingly sporting bare legs (or sheer tights) and suede Gianvito Rossi heels in the snow.
What can we say? Jennifer Lawrence isn’t the only one who likes to live on the edge.
The emphasis on Middleton’s exposed legs came just hours after Markle caught flak for wearing a sleeveless dress — indoors — on a day in which parts of London were blanketed with snow. It’s worth noting, however, that both women were exposed to the elements for only seconds at a time.
While some Twitter users fretted over whether Middleton was wearing “maternity thermals,” other mocked the overprotective media attention.
To quote one Twitter commenter: “Pregnancy is not an illness! Why is everyone in awe of the fact that she went out in a snow flurry — she didn’t walk there!”
“Truly brave wife about to really brave the weather to get to job as a nurse, but hey, look at what a royal did,” added another.
