Yahoo Lifestyle Kamala Harris Embraces a Softer Color Palette for Latest Power Suit Moment at Sorority Grand Boule Indianapolis Campaign Event
Vice President Kamala Harris spoke to perspective voters at her latest campaign event in Indianapolis on Wednesday. The presidential candidate for the Democratic party addressed the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Grand Boule, wearing an accessory that paid homage to her own collegiate sorority.
For the event, Harris opted for a fresh color palette and embraced the trending monochrome look. The vice president wore a beige power suit, featuring a double-breasted blazer and tailored trousers, along with a silk blouse in a complementary shade of the neutral tone.

Harris continued the color motif with a pair of neutral, pointed-toe heels as well. When it came to her accessories, Harris chose pieces that complemented the neutral shade of her latest power suit, and styled jewelry with significance to her collegiate sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha.
For her statement necklace, Harris chose a gold, chain-link piece that complemented the warm color palette of her power suit. When it came to her earrings, however, the vice president opted for her signature pearls. Pearls represent the 20 founders of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, which Harris pledged during her time as an undergraduate student at Howard University.
During such significant occasions throughout her political career, Harris has often worn pearls as a tribute to the organization that fostered her leadership qualities.
More recently, Harris attended an event in Dallas with the members of Alpha Kappa Alpha. The July 10 speaking engagement celebrated the sorority with a color palette of green and pink throughout the venue at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. Harris also styled a salmon pink power suit for the occasion.
Harris consistently demonstrates her proclivity for the power suit in her political career. But when it comes to her accessories, the vice president continues to find ways to honor and pay homage to her collegiate sorority by choosing pearls as her main accessory.
