John Krasinski’s Favorite 4-Ingredient Sandwich Is the Easiest Dinner
People's Sexiest Man Alive loves this comforting classic.
What do Blake Shelton, John Legend, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Matthew McConaughey have in common? They’ve all been named People’s Sexiest Man Alive, yes, but they’re also all foodies. It seems celebs really are just like us—just with a sexier title.
Now, John Krasinski has joined this exclusive group of men acclaimed for their good looks and charm, as he was just named People’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive. And, it turns out, the newest cover star is a food lover, too.
John Krasinski's Favorite Sandwich
Krasinski, who is famously married to actress Emily Blunt, told People that the couple’s “perfect date” involves going out to dinner to “catch up” with one another. But, with two young children, going out to eat isn’t always in the cards.
We know Blunt loves to cook—she’s gone viral for her roasted potatoes and even impressed Ina Garten with her family-favorite bolognese—so dinner in the Krasinski-Blunt house likely consists of many delicious home-cooked meals. Plus, with a brother-in-law like Stanley Tucci, we’re sure Krasinski is eating well wherever he goes.
However, where the couple disagrees is on the question of the best sandwich. Krasinski and Blunt have both taken ”The Colbert Questionert” on ”The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”, which starts with host Stephen Colbert asking his guests about their favorite sandwich. Blunt answered with a Cuban sandwich, but Krasinski shared a different answer that’s a comfort food classic.
“Meatball sub,” Krasinki answered, joking, “Wow, I just got judged.“ He added, “You can get a meatball sub anywhere, anytime, and they’re delicious.”
It’s true. Not only is a meatball sub on most deli and sandwich shop menus, but it’s also incredibly easy to make at home.
The hearty sandwich only requires four main ingredients: meatballs, marinara sauce, cheese, and a hoagie roll. Whether you make the meatballs and sauce from scratch or simply use frozen meatballs and store-bought marinara is truly up to you. Either way, the melty, toasted sandwich is a breeze to assemble and will be a comforting dinner crowd-pleaser.
That is, unless Krasinski is making the sandwich for Stanley Tucci’s daughter, Millie, who doesn’t like tomato sauce according to Tucci's new book, “What I Ate in One Year (and related thoughts)”. But, picky Tuccis aside, there’s nothing wrong with a meatball sub on a chilly weeknight. Don’t worry, John, we won’t judge you for your choice.
