Joe Biden has just been sworn in as the 45th President of the United States, and in keeping with tradition, America celebrated with a show-stopping Celebrating America special.

As the incredible day drew to a close, there was one moment above all that stood out to viewers watching the virtual event at home, as the President and his wife streamed in live from the White House.

While Demi Lovato, Katy Perry and other performed, cameras cut to the White House where President Biden danced along with his grandson in his arms.

Unsurprisingly the adorable moment had Twitter users melting.

After the Trump administration came to a very dramatic close, on Thursday, January 21, celebrities, American heroes and more came together to celebrate the new President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris with a jaw-dropping special showcasing US talent, and promising a hopeful future.

As one Twitter user put it: “This Celebrate America program is a really phenomenal display of what actually makes this country great.”

Taking out that phenomenal display was singer Katy Perry who had us shivering in goosebumps with a stirring rendition of her hit song Firework, sung while a dazzling display of them was put on outside the White House.

Watching on was the President and First Lady from a White House balcony, and Madame Vice President Kamala Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff, who smiled at each other and couldn’t resist a little boogie of their own while they looked up at the lights.

Viewers lost it over Vice President Kamala Harriss’ emotional address, taking to Twitter in droves to celebrate the first woman, and person of colour to become Vice President.

“We are bold fearless and ambitious,” an impassioned Harris told Americans. “We are undaunted in our belief that we shall overcome, that we will rise up. This is American aspiration.”

It’s wasn’t a world-famous music festival, but the line up could have a casual observer fooled.

Performances from big-name musicians left viewers inspired, and emotional as they shouted out everyday Americans in their performances.

Popstar Justin Timberlake also performed, as did Bon Jovi, streaming in from a pier in Miami.

In another powerful music moment, viewers were treated to a performance of Spanish language hit Despacito and other South American hits by Luis Fonsi and DJ Cassidy.

Finally, Demi Lovato blew viewers away with her performance of Lovely Day after a stirring address from three of the four former presidents – Bush, Clinton and Obama.

Helping with hosting duties was actress and Democrat Eva Longoria, streaming in for the event.

Delivering an impassioned monologue celebrating the hope brought on by the incoming president, she moved viewers with her words, but it was Eva Longoria’s impeccable appearance that had people scratching their heads.

“Is Eva Longoria aging backwards?” one viewer wondered. “She looks younger than the last time I saw her?”

“EVA LONGORIA LOOKS SO PRETTY,” another gushed.

Others pointed out she was looking very similar to another famous American.

“SMH I walked out for a moment and came back into to see on my tv Kim Kardashian but it was Eva Longoria lmao,” another wrote.

Outspoken model, mum and political activist Chrissy Teigen may have been a scourge on outgoing President Trump’s administration, but it seems she has a big fan in the brand new POTUS.

A thrilled Teigan took to Twitter to share the news that she is one of 11 accounts the brand new POTUS account is following, the only person followed apart from Biden aides and accounts.

“OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!” a thrilled Teigen wrote.

Touching story behind the little boy who introduced the president

Many viewers at home couldn’t help but wonder who the smartly-dressed articulate student who helped introduce the new president was.

What few could have guessed, due to his strong, unwavering voice, was that Brayden Harrington was the teenager who bonded with President Biden over his stutter.

The 13-year-old met former stutterer Biden at an event in New Hampshire, where he spoke to him from the sidelines.

President Biden invited the young boy to meet him backstage where he shared his wisdom about overcoming his stuttering, words that evidently went far as the teen delivered a flawless statement to the entire US nation today.
