Jimmy Nicholson has been announced as Australia’s next Bachelor.
The 31-year-old pilot decided to apply for the show after his career was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and thought it was the perfect opportunity to look for love.
“I am a big believer in embracing any opportunity that presents itself, especially if it has the potential to change your life for the better,” he said.
“The journey ahead will be one of the most challenging experiences that I have ever undertaken, however I am very excited to meet someone that I could potentially spend the rest of my life with.”
The Sydneysider, who according to Sydney Confidential is of New Zealand and Fijian heritage, has already set his Instagram to private ahead of the launch of the show.
However, he is already followed by last year’s runner-up, Bella Varelis.
Jimmy will be hoping to follow in the footsteps of some of the most successful couples to come out of the Bachelor franchise.
Past series have resulted in love matches for Tim and Anna, Sam and Snezana, Georgia and Lee, Matty J and Laura, and Locky and Irena. There’s also been a couple of Bachelor babies throughout the years.
