The Tonight Show host, 50, who has written nearly 10 children’s books, says when he sits down to think up his latest title, he takes notes from his daughters Winnie, 11, and Frances, 9.

“I'm totally stealing ideas from all my kids and they're going to sue me eventually,” Fallon, who shares his two children with wife Nancy Juvonen jokes to PEOPLE in an interview about the holiday season. “They said they wanted lawyers for Christmas. I don't know what that means.”

But in all seriousness, Fallon says his series of 5 More Sleeps ‘Til books was inspired by one of his daughters asking about an upcoming visit to grandma’s house.

“‘How many more sleeps till we go to Grandma's house?’ ” he remembers her asking.  “And I was like, I never heard that before. ‘How many sleeps?’ But it was pretty cute.”

The sweet interaction led to the 2020 release of 5 More Sleeps ‘til Christmas and later 5 More Sleeps ‘til Halloween in 2024.

Fallon admits his first book, Your Baby's First Word Will Be Dada, started as a “joke” based on his desire to get Winnie to say “Dada” as her first word.

“There are no real Dada books,” he remembers.  “So I was like, let's put out a book and all the book is, is the word Dada over and over again.”

And while the book was “a hit,” he says he received feedback that he needed to expand the collection.

“I had a lot of people coming up to me going, ‘Love it, but are you kidding me? You have nothing but women in your life. There's no mama book? What are you doing? What's wrong with you?' " he explains. “And I go, 'I'm so sorry. So I go, all right, what can I do that's a little different and fun?' So I did a mama book.”

The SNL alum has kept himself busy in recent months, partnering with Alex Mill on his second P’Jimmies pajamas collection, releasing a holiday album titled Holiday Seasoning and even has his own SiriusXM channel filled with his favorite songs of the season.

And along with classics like “Wonderful Christmastime” by Paul McCartney or “Last Christmas” by Wham!, Fallon’s list of favorite holiday songs now includes some from his own album like “Christmas Ding Dong.”

“You can tell that AI did not write these songs,” he says of his album. “These are songs that AI would tell you not to write. It'd be like, do not write 'Christmas Ding Dong' Do not write 'Chipmunks & Chestnuts.' This is the opposite of what an algorithm would write — it just comes from the brain of an insane man.”
