Why Jett Kenny is 'very proud' of mum Lisa Curry
He may have just finished up as a semi-finalist on Dancing With The Stars, but Jett Kenny is more so proud of his famous mother, former competitive swimmer Lisa Curry.
The 24-year-old says it’s no easy feat for his 56-year-old mum, who will strip down in the name of charity on Ladies Night when it airs later this year.
“I couldn’t go and watch because I was still in the competition,” he tells Yahoo Lifestyle Australia, referring to the recent taping of the show.
“Again I’m not sure if I would’ve liked to have gone and watched,” he laughs.
“I’m very proud of her for doing that, it’s a big thing for her,” he explains, adding all the other contestants would also be mustering up their courage to bare all on national television.
“I think for everyone it’s nothing that they’re comfortable with, but it’s for such a good cause.”
Jett appeared on the male version of the show, The Real Full Monty, last year, which involved him stripping down to absolutely nothing.
So when it came to hitting the stage shirtless for Dancing With The Stars this season, it was an absolute breeze and nothing he was afraid of his mum seeing.
“She did come and watch me do The Real Full Monty last year which is essentially me stripping down to nothing,” he explains. “So me just not having a shirt on is absolutely nothing.
“It was just good having mum and dad, they were there pretty much at every [DWTS] show.

After being booted off the Channel Ten show last night with dance partner, Lily Cornish, the blond-haired hunk says he’s still working out what his next move will be.
Having modelled for David Jones in the past, the upcoming Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia appears to be a suitable runway transition after DWTS, but Jett says there’s no catwalk appearances officially locked in as of yet.
Meanwhile as for another stint on reality TV, the surf lifesaver confirms he’s single but won’t appear on Gogglebox star Angie Kent’s season of The Bachelorette.
“Maybe in a few years if I’m having no luck,” he laughs.
The Dancing With The Stars grand finale will take place on Easter Monday, with Samuel Johnson, Courtney Act and Constance Hall set to battle it out for the mirror ball trophy.
A very sad goodbye to Jett & Lily, we loved having you on the show ❤️ #DWTSau
