Jessica Rowe: 'I'm happier after resigning'
TV personality Jessica Rowe’s life has changed dramatically in the past few months.
After her shock departure from Studio Ten in March due to personal reasons, the busy super-mum has found solace in being able to spend more time at home with her family.
So how does she compare that of a working mum vs stay–at–home mum?
She doesn’t.
In an exclusive chat with Be, the journalist revealed her pet hate over the debate that rocks the parenting world.

“We’re all working,” Jessica said. “So I’m not a big fan of saying ‘stay–at–home mum’ and ‘working mum’.”
“All of us move through those different parts of our lives often daily, weekly or yearly,” she added. “And I don’t think it’s about one versus the other.”

Leaving Studio Ten, the mother–of–two, (Allegra, 11, and Giselle, nine) said it was “one of the hardest decisions she’s had to make.”
“Like any big decision in our lives, it takes time and we weigh up the pros and cons and you write lists and talk endlessly to those closest to you then like anything, you go, enough with the talking, make a decision.
“For me, I feel lighter, I’ve grown taller,” she admitted.
“I just feel I’m relishing in feeling less of a grumpy mum and I’m just happier. That’s why I feel lighter. I’m just happy.”

Jessica announced her departure from Studio Ten on air and her TV family (and family at home – including husband Peter Overton) were there to support her 100%.
“After much soul searching and discussions with my family, it is with a heavy heart that I have decided to leave Studio 10,” she told the panel and audience.

“Studio 10 has been the best job I have ever had in media and it has been an absolute privilege to be with the show for more than four years,” she said.
“Thank you to the team for believing in me and giving me such an incredible opportunity to find my voice and confidence again.”
Jessica has teamed up with Thermos FUNtainer to share her sage advice on parenting and what she has learned in her years as a mum.
Thermos FUNtainer Food Jars are designed to make parenting simple by keeping contents hot for up to 5 hours and cold for up to 7 hours.
