Jessica and James play Rachel and Jake on the hit show Packed To The Rafters.
News of Jessica and James' engagement was broken by a Rafters co-star via Twitter yesterday.
Hugh Sheridan, Jessica's TV brother, tweeted: 'I'm so happy for Jess and Jimmy's awesome news! I hope they have a long and happy life together! My two great friends tying the knott (sic).'
Jessica's real-life sister Clara Marais posted her congratulations on Facebook:
'Clara is sooo excited about her sister's engagement! Love u jess and jimmy!! Make me a play mate for hong po! Xx'
With the hit drama currently on a production break, the on- and off-screen couple seized the opportunity to visit their families and deliver the happy news in person.
A Seven spokesman has said the couple are holidaying interstate after visiting Jessica's family in Perth and James' the Gold Coast.
The chemistry between their characters Rachel Rafter and Jake Barton sizzled from day one, but James revealed to New Idea earlier this year that their real-life relationship took longer to unfold.
And now, less than a year later, James (34) and Jessica (25) are set to tie the knot. Congratulations to the lovely couple!
