‘Jeopardy!’ Viewers Debate if Ken Jennings Pulls off a Mustache Like Alex Trebek After Old Photo Resurfaces
Ken Jennings, Alex Trebek
Jeopardy! fans started comparing Ken Jennings' facial hair to the late Alex Trebek's after the game show host noted that he didn't think he could "compete with Alex" when it comes to his iconic mustache.
During an Instagram Q&A with fans on the official Jeopardy! account, Jennings answered some questions about a variety of topics, including facial hair. One person asked if he would ever grow a "'70s Trebek style mustache," to which he said, “I feel like you can’t compete with Alex in any arena, but mustache, least of all."
He further piqued fans' interest when he said, "I have an old driver’s license photo from college where I do have a very scraggly mustache, and it’s a bad one.”
Well, Jeopardy! viewers quickly found the driver's license in question, leading to a debate on Reddit about whether or not Jennings should give the facial hair look a try. While one fan said he "should" grow a mustache, writing, "I think it would be a fine tribute" to Trebek, there were quite a few who didn't agree.

"He should, but it would look terrible," joked one fan, while another said, "STRONG 'no.'"
The bold opinions continued, with more game show viewers writing, "Ew no. Anyone who can actually pull it off is just an exception," and, "I wouldn't wish for that."
Someone else quipped, "How would we be able to tell him and his evil twin apart?" while one in particular felt like it should be a seasonal look: "Maybe in November, but not all the time."
Many also noted that they like Jennings just as he is, with supportive replies such as, "Ken is perfect already!" and, "I would hate that. He’s perfect as is."
Jennings began his journey with Jeopardy! as a contestant and champion. He transitioned to host in a guest role in 2021 after Trebek's death, and over the years he has slowly taken on more responsibility, with the 50-year-old becoming the solo permanent host in late 2023.
