Jennifer Lopez Shares First Selfie on Instagram Since Divorce News
On Friday (August 23), Jennifer Lopez shared a stunning selfie via her Instagram Story, her first post since it was revealed that she had filed for divorce from actor Ben Affleck. Page Six identified the shot as likely coming from a December 2020 makeup and hair session with famous stylist Chris Appleton.
In the snap, J.Lo’s makeup is flawless and she has a gorgeous honey-blonde blowout styled in huge curls. The star is wearing a pale pink tracksuit in a soft fuzzy material and a lit-up Christmas tree is visible in the background.
The Story is a repost from what appears to be a fan account that tagged J.Lo. In the pic Appleton originally shared on December 31, 2020, the stylist wrote, “Deluxe Glam Barbie- Ending the year with a bang ✨.”
A reminder that news of the Atlas star’s divorce filing broke on Tuesday (August 20) and neither she nor Ben has spoken publicly about the dissolution of their marriage.
Although Jen has returned to social media since her filing, she has yet to publicly comment on the split. A source who spoke with People suggested that she was the person to file because she was supposedly “done waiting.”
“She tried really hard to make things work and is heartbroken. The kids are a top priority, as they always have been,” the insider added.
A second person close to the sitch agreed that J.Lo is ready to “move on” from Ben, saying, “She’s very disappointed and sad, but Ben hasn’t given her any signs that he wants to continue their marriage.”
A Page Six insider, for their part, reportedly dished that the celeb tried to save her marriage, but Ben didn’t reciprocate.
“[J.Lo] truly believed this was the greatest love story she’d ever known and she was finally getting her chance at the fairy tale,” said the source. “She just really didn’t stop to consider who the actual man was [in] the fairy tale.”
“Ben has a darkness to him that no other person can fix. [His actress ex-wife] Jen Garner couldn’t fix it, all the success in the world couldn’t fix it,” they added.
