Jennifer Lopez has canceled her upcoming slate of TV appearances — including a spot on The View — to support relief efforts for the Los Angeles wildfires, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed.
The actress and pop superstar was slated for interviews on several high-profile New York City-based programs across the next week in support of her upcoming drama Unstoppable, though an insider told PEOPLE that "it's important to her to focus on supporting the community of Los Angeles during this very difficult time." EW has also confirmed that in addition to The View, Lopez will not appear appear on Live With Kelly and Mark, Today, and Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show.
Earlier Friday, a representative forThe View sent out a press release announcing Lopez and her Unstoppable costar Jharrel Jerome as guests for the Friday, Jan. 17 edition of the talk show, though a subsequent update removed both stars from the roster, with their slot being filled by panelist Joy Behar's longtime friend, actress Susie Essman.
EW has reached out to representatives for Lopez and The View for comment.
The 55-year-old joins other stars who've amplified relief efforts for the ongoing L.A. wildfires, including Sharon Stone, who organized a clothing drive in the area, and Jamie Lee Curtis, who pledged $1 million to support efforts in the region.
Thus far, the Associated Press has reported that 153,000 people in the L.A. area are under evacuation orders, and cited research that estimated final damages could reach $150 billion.
Other celebrities impacted by the fires also included Milo Ventimiglia, Paris Hilton, Spencer Pratt, James Woods, Billy Crystal, Melissa Rivers, and more, all of whom revealed that they lost their homes as a result of the fires.
