Jennifer Hudson reveals her father had 27 children, and she still hasn't met all of her half-siblings
The talk show host says it was once "her dream" to "have all of us at this grand Thanksgiving or Christmas table."
Jennifer Hudson has yet to meet all of her brothers and sisters.
The Dreamgirls star learned in her teen years that the father she'd grown up without had many offspring, Hudson told journalist Michele Norris on Wednesday's episode of her podcast, Your Mama's Kitchen.
"Apparently," Hudson explained, "he had 27 children."

Now 42, the EGOT winner said she wanted them all to gather in one place.
"It was my dream to have all of us at this grand Thanksgiving or Christmas table, and we all sit and eat together — that was my goal at 16," she said.

Hudson was raised by her mom, the late Darnell Donerson, but recalled that her paternal family members played a part in connecting the half-brothers and sisters she did meet.
"When my grandma on his side passed," Hudson said, "my siblings over there were like, 'Y'all got a sister that can really sing, you should meet her, and eventually we all came together."
The youngest of the family members that she's met over her lifetime, Hudson said she's met six or seven of them that she didn't know while growing up.

Hudson is the mother of one son, David Otunga Jr., who was born in 2009. His father is Hudson's former fiancé David Otunga, who she was with until 2017.
Aside from family members, Hudson told PEOPLE earlier this month that things are going well with her current love interest, Common.
"Everything is wonderful," Hudson told the magazine. "That's all you need to know."
The star of The Jennifer Hudson Show and the rapper-actor were rumored to be dating back in 2022, but they only (unofficially) confirmed their relationship this year.
