Why mums are shaming Jennifer Hawkins over this photo

Jennifer Hawkins has clapped back at people mum-shaming her after she shared a sweet beach snap with her baby girl last week.

“No one can prepare you for the gummy smiles and baby ‘convo’!?” the first-time-mum captioned the photo with her daughter Frankie Violet.

But some of her fans were quick to call out one detail.

“Loving the photo but why does Mummy have a hat on and not Bubba?” one of her followers asked.

“Where's the baby's hat?” another chimed in.

Many of Jen’s fans jumped in to defend the mum, but she quickly responded herself to alleviate people’s concerns.

“Because bub was under a beach umbrella 2 seconds after this picture,” she clapped back.

Jennifer Hawkins and husband Jake Wall welcomed their first child back in October, announcing the happy news on both their Instagram accounts.

“Dream come true! So thankful to be holding our beautiful healthy baby girl!” the first-time mum captioned her post.

“We couldn’t be more in love.”

Earlier this year, 35-year-old Jen admitted she was ‘so scared’ to get pregnant again after previously experiencing a miscarriage.

The former Miss Universe Australia made the candid admission in an interview with Stellar, where she called the year following the ‘toughest’ of her and Jake’s lives.

“I felt like I almost broke and, in fact, it’s still really raw,” she said in reference to becoming pregnant with Frankie.

“When we went to see the heartbeat scan for our little girl, it was the most incredible, overwhelming feeling because prior to that we were so scared.”

The couple, who married in 2013, revealed they were expecting via Instagram in May 2019.
