Jennifer Coolidge On Jon Gries’ Character Return To ‘The White Lotus’: “I Hope They Do Something Terrible To Him”
Jennifer Coolidge might not be in The White Lotus Season 3, but she is keeping up with the HBO drama series.
Coolidge played Tanya in the first two seasons of the Mike White-created series, but her character was killed off in Season 2. However, she wants her character avenged and doesn’t wish anything well for Jon Gries’ character.

Gries’ Greg returned to The White Lotus but this time with the name of Gary. Tanya and Greg had a toxic marriage, which seemingly led him to hire someone to murder her. Although Tanya survived the kidnapping, she fell to her death while trying to escape.
“Jon Gries has shown up [again as Tanya’s former husband, Greg],” Coolidge told Forbes. “I hope he gets it! I hope they do something terrible to him.”
Coolidge noted that she is “envious as hell” for not being directly involved with the third season of the drama series. Some have suggested Coolidge could return as Tanya’s twin sister, to which she said, “I know! Look, it’s not like I haven’t wished or whatever, but it isn’t happening. It doesn’t matter – they don’t need me. Mike White can tell a story better than anybody.”

As far as the new season goes, she says, “I just felt like everything [Mike White] set up – it’s really eerie – you’re not quite sure what people are up to yet. My guess? Something’s going to go horribly wrong. I think it’s really going to go wrong.”
Coolidge won two Emmys for her role of Tanya in the HBO anthology series.
