No, Jennifer Aniston did not get oil thrown at her in real life. But viral photos of her filming such a moment for The Morning Show's upcoming season did spark a wave of worrisome responses from those closest to her.

During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Oct. 2, Aniston set the record straight as she dispelled tabloid stories and rumors about herself online, including giving further context about the viral photos of herself covered in oil that made headlines.

"There was something that happened in the context of the show that was presented as if it happened in real life by the tabloids," host Jimmy Kimmel began, holding up the picture of Aniston. "You got splashed by — well your character I should say — got splashed with oil ... It seemed like somebody did this to you."

The Friends alum, 55, explained that she was later overwhelmed with messages from concerned loved ones who tried checking in.
