Jenna Lyons Reveals She's Engaged to Photographer Cass Bird and Planning a Wedding: 'It's Happening'

Jenna Lyons is engaged!
Following months of speculation, the Real Housewives of New York City star, 56, confirmed that she and partner Cass Bird are indeed engaged. Lyons shared the news during an appearance on Sherri on Tuesday, Oct. 15, after fellow guest and RHONY costar Racquel Chevremont revealed her own engagement to Mel Corpus.
Amid the conversation, host Sherri Shepherd turned to Lyons and said, "I think I saw an engagement ring in the [RHONY] trailer" — leading Chevremont, 53, to jokingly interject, "How can you miss that?"
Lyons then told Chevremont, "I thought I did really well, but this kind of pales in comparison," referring to her costar's own massive engagement ring.

"I think you did well, Jenna — if that is an engagement ring," Shepherd, 57, said, turning the conversation back to Lyons.
"Yes, yes!" Lyons replied, as Shepherd admired her large, rectangular diamond ring. "When we were in the [jewelry] store, I was like, 'That one is not big enough. Let's [keep looking].' "
The former J.Crew executive then shared that she and Cass — who went Instagram official in July 2023 — are "working on" setting a date for their wedding. When Chevremont said she and Corpus are thinking of marrying in June, Lyons said, "I don't know if we're that close. But it's happening."
Lyons first had fans buzzing about a possible engagement last September when she posted a cozy photo of herself and Bird. A large ring could be seen on Lyons' left ring finger. In the comments of the post, friends and fans alike offered their congratulations, assuming the ring was an engagement ring.
However, a source close to the reality star told PEOPLE at the time, "She's not engaged. She's had that ring forever, and though it does look like an engagement ring, it's not."
Lyons remained coy about the ring during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live just weeks later. Host Andy Cohen asked her, “I wanna say congratulations because I think you’re engaged, but are you engaged?”
“So basically, here’s the story. My girlfriend, who I adore, kept telling me that I had to button my shirt, and I said ‘If you want me to button my shirt, you have to put a ring on it,’ " the Bravo star replied, seemingly referring to her penchant for showing off her décolletage. “We’re just really happy, and she gave me the ring that I wanted.”
Lyons first revealed her relationship with Cass in a New York Times article in June 2023, after previously sharing in April that she had a "massive crush on someone."
During a July 2023 episode of RHONY, Lyons made it clear that she would not be bringing her then-girlfriend on camera and wanted to keep her romantic life private. "Because I've had so much press, I am very quiet about that so I'm not sharing that," she said, explaining her decision to several of her costars at a dinner in the Hamptons.
Later, during a confessional, Lyons shared why she was keeping Cass' identity a secret at the time. "My life has put me in the public eye for my job and other things I've done. And that is my choice. And someone does not want to be in that with me, then I have to respect that," she said.
