Jelly Roll sent a direct message to his fans when he arrived to attend the 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) airing on Thursday, Dec. 12.

The country music star arrived on the red carpet wearing a black shirt beneath a black and red button-down jacket. He wore a couple of thick silver chains around his neck as he grinned while posing for event photographers.

A short video recorded on the red carpet and later shared on the awards show’s account on X, formerly Twitter, showed the rapper-turned-country-star sending a direct message to his fans.

“It’s all about the fans—always,” Jelly Roll, who celebrated his 40th birthday earlier this month, said. "Fans first in every regard, every time, all the time.”

As the “Wild Ones” singer then pointed out, “We wouldn’t have a stage to stand on if there wasn’t people in front of it.”

After sharing love for his listeners, Jelly Roll then responded to a query about which artist he listened to most in 2024. The video showed him first identifying Chappell Roan as the musician who “probably” qualifies for his answer, adding, “I’ve been ‘HOT TO GO!’ like everybody else. I can’t lie!”

Jelly Roll then added a few honorable mentions, starting with Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter. “A lot of The Tortured Poets Department. Taylor, I thought, had a great album. Sabrina’s album was incredible,” he said, later adding a few others to the list: “Lainey Wilson’s Whirlwind, Cody Johnson’s Leather. Kelsea Ballerini’s Patterns just came out. I’m sorry, I’m excited,” he laughed.

“He looks very happy!” one fan observed after the BBMAs shared photos of the “Son of a Sinner” crooner on X.

Another fan agreed, tweeting that he looked to be “Full of joy and mark!”

Jelly Roll was nominated for three awards at this year’s ceremony. In addition to his nominations in the Top Songs Sales Artist and Top Rock Artist categories, he picked up a nomination for his guest feature on Falling In Reverse’s “All My Life” in the Top Hard Rock Song category.

The “Need a Favor” singer is also slated to deliver two performances during Thursday’s ceremony.
