After tying the knot in a lavish Mexican ceremony yesterday, Karl Stefanovic and Jasmine Yarbrough are getting ready to embark on a five-day honeymoon to Aspen.
And it sounds like it’s going to be a family affair, with Karl’s three kids, Jackson, 19, Ava, 13 and River, 12 said to be joining the newlyweds on their idyllic retreat.
“Karl and Jasmine decided that the focus should be on his kids after their wedding, so they’re being treated to a skiing holiday,” a source told the Daily Mail.
Taking on her new role of step mum, Jasmine has also been hoping to improve Karl’s relationship with his eldest son Jackson, after it was rumoured there was tension between the pair following Karl’s divorce from mum, Cassandra Thorburn, after 21 years of marriage.
The couple is said to have also paid for Jackson’s British girlfriend, Anna, to fly from the UK to Mexico to join them for the wedding celebrations.
They’re now the vision of a ‘happy family’ according to a fellow passenger who spotted them walking through LAX airport last week.
“Jasmine was making a real effort with the kids,” the source told Woman’s Day, who reported the 34-year-old has had “a lot of work to do to mend some of the stuff that’s gone down.”
However, the five-day family trip will only mark the start of the couple’s honeymoon adventures, with the pair set to return to Australia before enjoying a ‘proper honeymoon, just for the two of them,’ a source told the Daily Mail.
Last night Karl couldn’t help but gush over his over his new wife in front of their 180 guests, at the One&Only Palmilla resort.
“Jasmine, you have taken on enormous stress with me, you have taken on another family, media and social criticism that would break most — you’ve weathered it,” he said, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.
“You stand tall, you stand strong, you stand up and keep walking.
“You are my rock, you are my saviour, you put me back together. I’m a better person because of you, a better friend, a better dad — tonight I celebrate and toast you Jasmine my wife.”
