Jamie Lee Curtis Protects Cate Blanchett's on-Camera Wardrobe Malfunction

Jamie Lee Curtis and Cate Blanchett are more than co-stars in the new video game-inspired movie Borderlands—they're good buddies, too.

The friendship between the two actresses was on full display during a recent red carpet appearance at an event for the film when Curtis, 65, helped cover up Blanchett, 55, during a slight wardrobe malfunction.

"Nothing is going on! You know what is going on? I got her back," Curtis said as she stood behind Blanchett, seemingly holding up her pants.

Blanchett, whose top was made of spoons, told Entertainment Tonight that this was typical behavior for Curtis.

"On every single movie that Jamie makes, she is the den mother," Blanchett said.

Curtis also offered a hilarious explanation for Blanchett's top.

"I'm in The Bear, and they had an entire episode called 'Forks,' so we're covering all the culinary, you know, stuff," she said.

Last month, Curtis took to Instagram to rave about Blanchett, revealing that she took the role in Borderlands for the chance to work together.

"Watching #cateblanchett do her thing in @borderlandsfilm was thrilling and INSPIRING," Curtis wrote. "She is the sole reason I left my family and moved to Budapest in the middle of Covid. She's a great actress and role model and feminist and devoted, humanitarian and her work with @refugees is a great example to me of the marriage between art and ACTIVISM!"

Based on the bestselling video game of the same name, Borderlands follows the story of a "ragtag team of misfits" (including characters played by Jack Black and Kevin Hart) on an intergalactic mission, according to the movie's official website.
