Jamie Foxx is marking a huge milestone nearly a year and a half after his medical emergency.

The actor wrapped the recording of his stand-up-comedy special for Netflix in Atlanta over the weekend, where he celebrated with his team and CBS Mornings' Gayle King.

In backstage video footage shared by the television journalist, Foxx, 56, first congratulated his team, saying they should "be so proud" and urging them to "give yourselves a round of applause" as he opened a bottle of champagne.

After King, 69, asked how he was feeling, the Academy Award winner replied, "It was an excruciating time, to be able to open those wounds every single day for three months," because "the worry" about how the show will be received "is what gets you."

"We got a great show in the room, but we don't know what [the audience] may laugh or what they may not laugh at," Foxx explained. "Usually, when you do a stand-up special, you go out for a year and you work every little nook and cranny, and then you tape it. You don't just show up in Atlanta and turn the camera on."

"It's a personal journey, and I hope I never ... I am never gonna go through this again. My next jokes will start out, 'Knock-knock!' " he said, which drew laughter from those around him. "I'll do an hour and a half of knock-knock jokes."

The video ended with Foxx thanking his his team and adding, "We landed on the moon."

"Let's put it away. Let's sit back and watch it, and then let's build toward a newer, brighter and healthier future," he said.
