James Kennedy's attorneys are addressing his domestic arrest on his behalf.
“We are in the process of conducting our own investigation into the allegations levied by the Burbank Police Department against James,” attorneys for Kennedy, 32, said in a Friday, December 13, statement obtained by PEOPLE. “We understand that there were no injuries and we are hoping that, after careful review, the city’s attorneys will decide not to file formal charges.”
A police spokesperson confirmed to PEOPLE that the Burbank Police Department was called to the Vanderpump Rules alum's Los Angeles home "regarding an argument between a man and a woman" on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
"The investigation determined it was a domestic incident, leading to [Kennedy's] arrest," the spokesperson said. "[Kennedy] was booked for misdemeanor domestic violence and later posted bail. Formal charges are pending review by the Burbank City Attorney’s office."

The reality star and Lewber began dating in January 2022, just over a month after Kennedy's engagement to his VPR costar Rachel (formerly Raquel) Leviss concluded. The pair first met at a concert for Tom Sandoval’s band, The Most Extras, and Lewber later admitted she had been a fan of the Bravo show.
"I had seen Vanderpump Rules. During COVID, I went down the Bravo rabbit hole," she explained to Andy Cohen during the show’s season 10 reunion, per BravoTV.com.
Despite Kennedy’s history of controversial behavior, which was documented on the Bravo series, Lewber previously shared that “meeting him [was] different.”
"I gave him a chance to really show me who he is," Lewber recalled, adding that “he's lovely."
