James Corden revealed that he tried Ozempic for weight loss, but didn’t have the same results as other stars who have taken the injection medication.

During the Sept. 19 episode of his This Life of Mine podcast, the actor and comedian, 46, spoke to Richard Osman, who discussed his lifelong struggle with food addiction. Corden then shared that when it comes to his relationship with food, taking Ozempic didn’t have much of an impact.

Ozempic is an FDA-approved prescription medication for people with type 2 diabetes. It’s a brand name — as well as Wegovy — for semaglutide, which works in the brain to impact satiety, and is the latest Hollywood weight loss trend.

“I tried Ozempic, and it won’t be surprising to you when you look at me now, that it didn’t really work,” Corden quipped. “I tried it for a bit and then what I realized was I was like, ‘Oh no, nothing about my eating has anything to do with being hungry.’ All this does is make you feel not hungry. But I am very rarely eating [just because of hunger].”

“You are looking at someone who’s eaten a king size, and when I say king size [Cadbury] Dairy Milk — one you give someone for Christmas — in a carwash,” the former The Late Late Show host said. “None of that was like, ‘Oh, I’m so hungry’. It is not that, it’s something else.”

Corden isn’t the only celebrity who has spoken about taking Ozempic and not seeing the results they were looking for.

“I saw so many people who were trying it and losing weight. So I was like, ‘Okay, I’m going to try this.’ And I didn’t lose any weight.” Xscape singer Kandi Burruss said in June. “It didn’t curb my appetite. I know some people are like, ‘Oh, I can’t eat.’ Not me! I was eating appetizers, a regular meal and dessert, okay? It didn’t stop anything for me.”

“I've been on it for a long time, but hadn't really seen much results,” Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Heather Gay shared in November 2023.
