Jack Vidgen’s hilarious clap back after confessing he once went to bed with a woman
Many celebrities and reality TV stars say they have to actively avoid the comment section on social media, but Jack Vidgen has managed to have a good laugh after diving into comments left under a particularly salacious headline.
Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the singer shared screenshots of some hilarious reactions to a Daily Mail article titled, “That escalated quickly! Openly gay singer Jack Vidgen reveals he wants to be the next Bachelor after 'accidentally having sex with a woman' on a boozy night out”.
“I can’t believe I’m now straight AND going on The Bachelor,” Jack wrote before jumping on his Stories to explain that someone tagged him in the comments.
“If it’s on Facebook it must be true,” read one of the comments, while another said, “Once he straightens up he’ll jump back on the passenger seat”.
A few famous pals got in on the joke too with The Bachelor’s Abbie Chatfield saying, “@jack.vidgen congrats on coming out”.
I’m A Celebrity’s David Subritzky commented, “Time to download Blendr”, Byron Baes’ Jade Kevin Foster wrote, “So proud of you speaking your truth”, and Australian Idol star Paulini Curuenavuli simply left a series of laughing crying emojis.
The article references a recent interview the 25-year-old did with Yes, B*tch, The Podcast in which he joked about waking up beside a woman after a big night out with a little too much tequila.
Recounting the story on the podcast show, he said that he invited two girls to hang out at his place after a night out. One later went home, while he set up a pillow and blankets for the other on his couch because she had a car and he didn’t want her driving home.
“...Long story short, I woke up with one of them the next day - in bed. I don't think anything happened! I'm not sure!” he laughed.
“I put her to sleep on the couch, I woke up, she was in my bed,” he added, before clarifying that they did not have sex but he can’t recall if anything else happened.
“I had undies on. She had undies on,” he said, “I was very dusty in the morning.”

The Bachelor element meanwhile, is based solely on the fact that Jack commented “applying now” under Osher Günsberg's Instagram call out for contestants for the 2022 season of the show.
Alongside a photo of some of the reality show’s most famous female stars, Osher wrote, “Here we go. New spectacular season. New spectacular location. A chance to meet your forever ever (forever ever?) forever.”
Jack first found fame as a 14-year-old on Australia’s Got Talent, and returned to our screens eight years later in 2019 as a participant on The Voice.
He’s been so popular since that he appeared on both I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and the Masked Singer in 2021.
