I've Tried So Many Store-Bought Cold Brew Coffees and This Is the Only One Worth Buying
My fridge is always stocked with a bottle or two.
No matter where I go, I’m being bombarded by fall specials. Pumpkin spice lattes are not only back at Starbucks and Dunkin’, but also my local independent coffee shop. The shelves at Trader Joe’s are teeming with new seasonal products. And just last weekend, I spotted Costco’s massive pumpkin pie on my regular monthly shopping trip. As much as I love fall—I’ve already made my inaugural pumpkin bread of the season—there are two things I’m not ready to part with just yet: wearing white and iced coffee.
On the crisp mornings we’re already having here in the Northeast, it’s been tempting to make the switch to a steaming hot cup of coffee. But I’ve been hanging onto my glass of cold brew. Why, you may ask? Because fall is undoubtedly the best iced coffee season. Hear me out. While we naturally reach for iced drinks to keep us cool in the summer months, there’s nothing more annoying than a watered-down beverage and dripping cup because the ice melts faster in the hot temps than we can sip it. Fall, on the other hand, is when we have that just-right balance. It’s cool enough to leisurely enjoy an iced coffee (or any chilled drink for that matter), but not so cold that we risk frostbite while getting caffeinated.
It also helps that after years of looking for the perfect store-bought iced coffee, I’ve finally found one that’s worth sipping on well into the cooler months: Pop & Bottle’s bottled cold brew.
Why I Love Pop & Bottle's Bottled Cold Brew
Despite cold brew’s popularity over the last few years, I haven’t been a fan. Most of the ones I’ve tried—both at coffee shops and grocery stores—have been too tart and acidic. My attempts at brewing it at home have been unsuccessful. But Pop & Bottle’s cold brew has finally made me a cold brew convert. For starters, it’s not tart at all. The coffee is super smooth with a nice roasted flavor that holds up to any milk I’ve tried with it. I’ve had the light and medium roasts and prefer the latter, which has a deeper coffee flavor.
Not only do I love how Pop & Bottle’s cold brew tastes, but it’s far more affordable than making daily coffee runs. A 48-ounce bottle costs $6.99, which is what one drink costs at most coffee shops nowadays. I usually pick up a bottle or two on my Target runs, but Pop & Bottle’s coffees are also available at other major retailers like Whole Foods, Walmart, Aldi, and even some Costco stores. They also have a line of instant cold brew concentrates that’s shelf stable if you don’t have a ton of fridge space for the large bottles.
And on those fall days when I want both a taste of autumn and my cold brew fix? Pop & Bottle has me covered—the brand recently launched a pumpkin spice almond milk latte I can’t wait to try.
