Issa Rae discovers royal heritage in “No Taste Like Home With Antoni Porowski” trailer: 'It almost feels unreal' (exclusive)

Florence Pugh, Awkwafina, Justin Theroux, Henry Golding, and James Marsden also appear in the new Nat Geo series.

Antoni Porowski embarks on an emotional, albeit delicious, trip around the globe with Issa Rae, Florence Pugh, Awkwafina, and more celebrities on his upcoming Nat Geo series, No Taste Like Home.

Premiering Feb. 23, the six-part series follows Porowski, best known as the food expert on Netflix’s Queer Eye reboot, as he helps the Hollywood stars trace their family heritage through food. Entertainment Weekly has the exclusive trailer, which sees an overwhelmed Rae discover that she descends from royalty and an overcome Awkwafina get choked up as she reconnects with her Korean lineage.

"It almost feels unreal to think that I descend from a king," Rae tells Porowski as they sit on a beach. In another scene from the trailer, Pugh gasps aloud at something they learn, revealing, "My parents have no idea."

“As the son of immigrants, I know that food can tell you more about who you are and where you come from than you ever imagined,” says Porowski, who is of Polish descent, in the above trailer's voiceover.

Justin Theroux, Henry Golding, and James Marsden round out the cast of stars who embark on "journeys of a lifetime." “I’ll be delving into their family histories and tracking down culinary clues to unlock the past,” adds Porowski via voiceover, as the trailer cuts to sweeping, picturesque views of the locale.  The series counts celebrity chef and restauranter Gordon Ramsay as an executive producer.

The debut episodes will follow Porowski as he journeys across England with Pugh and South Korea with Awkwafina, respectively. He'll also head to Italy with Theroux to unearth the origins of a family pasta dish; the Texas plains and Germany with Marsden to get to the bottom of his family’s chicken fried steak; Senegal with Rae to discover her connection to a king; and Borneo with Golding to reconnect with his mother’s Iban heritage.

Each episode promises to dish up an “epic adventure” — ones “filled with cinematic moments, intimate conversations with locals, the joys of cooking and, of course, lots and lots of eating,” per Nat Geo.

Porowski can also currently be seen in season 9 of Queer Eye transforming the lives of heroes in Las Vegas alongside culture expert Karamo Brown, fashion’s Tan France, grooming’s Jonathan Van Ness, and interior design’s Jeremiah Brent, who replaces Bobby Berk. The revamped Fab Five are also gearing up for a live five-city tour that kicks off Feb. 19 in Philadelphia and concludes March 12 in Los Angeles.
