‘Industry’ Star Myha’la Reveals She “Misses Working With Ken Leung Every Single Day” On Season 3

Industry’s third season sees the tumultuous master-pupil relationship between Harper and her former mentor Eric still at the heart of the series, despite the two actors barely sharing any screen time together.

Harper actress Myha’la (she dropped her last name Herrold last year), told the UK’s Guardian newspaper her character, now ousted from the investment company at the heart of the HBO/BBC show, barely has one scene with Eric, played by actor Ken Leung, following their dynamite chemistry in previous series.

Having fewer scenes with Leung, who plays Eric, was “so depressing! I was like: ‘Where’s Ken?’ every single day,” she told The Guardian. The pair finally worked together on one of the final scenes of the season, when Leung was filming his half of a phone call to Harper. She said: “I was like: ‘I’m here! Let me read for you!’ I’m really grateful we got to do that scene together.”

Despite this, the pair’s invisible connecting string remains intact, according to Myha’la. “He’s plotting her downfall, and with everything she does, there’s some thought about how it will affect him.”

Myha’la also revealed that, after three seasons of playing battle-hardened trader Harper, she feels softer towards people working in the banking world.

“If someone was like: do you have sympathy for people on Wall Street or whatever, I would generally be like … no,” she says. “But when you see some of the things these people have gone through, it does help you empathise.”

Industry has been commissioned for a fourth season.
