Taking to social media, she shared how she whips up a batch of rissoles in no time at all using a very common kitchen item.

“I’m not sure if any of you guys have tried this, but cooking Rissoles in a Muffin Tray is life-changing,” she wrote on the Budget Friendly Meals Australia Facebook page.

Her post was met with 1.7K likes and hundreds of comments from fellow mums who couldn’t wait to test it out.

“Actually never occurred to me! Definitely going to do this next time! One of the reasons we don't have them very often is because I hate cooking them...this could be a game-changer. Thanks heaps for sharing,” one person commented.

“OMG what a brilliant idea! Clever you, I must try it,” added another.

Asked exactly how it works, the original poster said she placed her rissole mixture into the muffin tin and drizzled some oil over each one. Then cooked them for 45 minutes in the oven at 180 degrees.

She also revealed there’s no need to flip them saying, “they were cooked to perfection without flipping”.

It works with other meals too

Apart from rissoles, the hack appears to work on a range of other family favourite meals too, including meatloaf, meatballs and even roast potatoes.

“It's how I've been doing mini meatloaf for years, found doing meatloaf this way it didn't dry out like it did in a traditional shape,” one woman shared.

“They are amazing I've done them this way for years I pour gravy over the top once cooked for the last 5 minutes,” added another.

“Yep! An a mini muffin tray for meatballs for spaghetti and meatballs” suggested another, while another said she uses a muffin tray to cook her roast potatoes making them “extra crunchy”.

The post was also flooded with quick tips and tricks for creating the tastiest meatloaves, meatballs and rissoles.

Among some of the most popular tips were grating potato into the mince mixture to keep it moist, covering the rissoles with BBQ sauce before cooking for extra flavour and using top quality mince to avoid fat collecting at the bottom of the muffin pan.

Others added that if you don't have an oven, you can make them just as well in the pie maker or air fryer too.

It’s a winning dinner

Within a day of posting, others quickly jumped on the ‘genius idea’ and tried it out for themselves.

One woman said it was a hit with her five-year-old after adding her own spin on the recipe.

“So following on from the rissole post yesterday. I made rissoles in the cupcake pan in cupcake cases. Topped with mash potato and a little cheese then crisped them up in the Air Fryer,” she said. “My 5-year-old loved them!!”

Meanwhile, in another post about the popular cooking hack, one woman shared her little addition to the recipe.

“Looks delicious! I have also done it and wrapped rissoles in bacon first,” she added.

So it seems all you need is a good rissole recipe and a muffin tin and the options are endless!
