I'm A Celebrity's Dylan Lewis tears up over 'awful' family tragedy

There wasn't a dry eye in the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! camp when the contestants opened up about the charities they've chosen to get behind on the show.

Aussie musician and TV personality, Dylan Lewis broke down while revealing why he's supporting the mental health charity Lifeline in Tuesday night's episode.

The former Video Hits host let his tears flow as he remembered his late brother, Quinn who tragically died by suicide a decade and a half ago.

Despite admitting that he rarely speaks about his brother's death in public, Dylan bravely bared his heart to his fellow campmates.

"My brother's name is Quinn. He's three years younger than me," the 48-year-old began.

"Obviously we grew up best friends, he's the reason I do music. [He] had a few mental health issues going on, and 15 years ago, he took his life," he added.

Dylan then bowed his head to his hands and said, "Suicide is an awful thing for people to have to deal with".

The Double J radio presenter urged anyone concerned about themselves or a loved one to reach out to Lifeline for support.

"They’re caring, they know what to say, they’re trained. They know what kind of help you need," Dylan said.

While he admitted that 'grief lasts forever,' Dylan was proud to be honouring his brother's memory as well as raising awareness for a good cause on I'm A Celebrity.

"I’m doing this for Quinny, I’m doing it for all my family and I’m doing it for anyone who’s ever been touched by this," he said.

Later, alone in the video diary hut, Dylan said he wanted to use his platform 'to help someone else' because he is still sad every day about losing his 'bro'.

Dylan, who won Celebrity Big Brother in 2002, also took to Instagram to pay tribute to Quinn by sharing a sweet snap of the pair together.

"This is me and my beautiful brother, Quinn. I think about him every day and love him every day and wish he was still with us. Every day," he wrote in the caption.

The campmate who wins this season of the show will receive a $100,000 donation for their chosen charity.
