Will Taylor Swift cancel her Eras Tour Miami concerts?

It's possible that Swift will cancel the concerts in Miami depending on the weather as it gets closer to the dates. As of writing, Swift has not shared any statement about the upcoming concerts in Miami in relation to Hurricane Milton. However, the storm has the potential to do a lot of damage to Florida once it makes landfall.

While Hurricane Milton was upgraded to a Category 5 storm on Wednesday, Oct. 9, it was downgraded to a Category 4 the next day and was predicted to make landfall on Wednesday night or in the early morning on Thursday, Oct. 10.

While Miami was not in the direct path of the storm, locations south of the landfall were expected to get "a very high storm surge that could be 12 feet deep," local meteorologist John Morales explained of the "horrific" forecast, which came just two weeks after Hurricane Helene devastated much of the south.

Even if Hurricane Milton doesn't hit Miami, there is still some time before the next Eras Tour concerts, and it's possible that there will be more tough weather after Milton.

Has Taylor Swift canceled other Eras Tour shows?

Earlier this year, Swift had no choice but to cancel all three shows scheduled to take place in Vienna, Austria, on Thursday, Aug. 8, 9, and 10, after the country's government confirmed a verifiable terroristic threat.

The singer didn't address the cancellation until the rest of her European dates wrapped in London later that month, calling it a "rollercoaster of emotions" after the "devastating" cancellations that "filled [her] with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt."

"But I was also so grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives," she continued, explaining that she did not previously speak publicly at the risk it "might provoke those who would want to harm the fans who come to my shows."

"In cases like this one, ‘silence’ is actually showing restraint, and waiting to express yourself at a time when it’s right to," she concluded. "My priority was finishing our European tour safely, and it is with great relief that I can say we did that."

Other than that, the only time she canceled a show altogether (not including the COVID-scrapped Lover Fest concerts) was when the Red Tour was scheduled to arrive in Bangkok, Thailand, in June of 2014, following a military coup and political unrest in the country. She canceled that appearance in May due to the "recent events," with a statement from the promoter calling it "a difficult decision for all parties."

“I’m sending my love to the fans in Thailand,” Swift wrote on Twitter at the time. “I’m so sad about the concert being canceled.”

Any other instance throughout her six headline tours resulted in swift rescheduling, whether it was a result of illness, poor weather, or, in one case, a surprisingly successful season from the Houston Astros that required the use of their stadium on the day she was scheduled to play there.

How can I get my money back if Taylor Swift cancels an Eras Tour concert?

If Swift cancels an upcoming Eras Tour show because of the hurricane, fans don't have to worry about getting their money back for purchased tickets.

Ticketmaster, which handled the Miami ticket sales, states on its website that "no action is required to obtain a refund" in the event of a concert being canceled. In such a situation, the refund will be sent to the original method of payment as soon as Ticketmaster receives the funds from the event organizer.
