How Coles shoppers can score free MasterChef knives

Shoppers looking to get their hands on some new knives can earn themselves a full set for free by utilising a new Coles promotion.

Onwards from November 4, customers who spend more than $20 and scan their Flybuys card will be able to earn special “knife” credits.

For every $20 spent either in store or online, shoppers earn one knife credit — once 20 credits have been accumulated, they can start redeeming knives from an exclusive Masterchef collection.

A utility knife and small santoku knife can be earned with 20 credits, while a bread knife requires 30 and a large santoku knife and two-pack of steak knives are worth 35.

The “chef-quality” knives have an estimated value of between $20 and $50 each.

An acacia wood knife block with a filament insert that holds any type of knife can also be purchased from Coles for $25 in store, but they will be available only until they sell out.

Coles chief executive officer Steven Cain said he hoped the knives would help shoppers stock their kitchens ahead of Christmas.

“Our team of product developers, development chefs, suppliers, farmers, supply chain and team members have been working hard all year to ensure we can sustainably feed all Australians and help them have a happier and healthier Christmas,” Mr Cain said.

“We know Christmas will be like no other this year – Australians will be hoping for a very special time and we want to help make this as easy and affordable as possible for them.

“We’re continuing to lower the cost of entertaining with our new range and providing customers with even more value every time they shop at Coles with our latest campaign to help top up their kitchen with excellent quality knives and make cooking preparation even easier this year.”

Coles announced on Wednesday what customers could expect from the supermarket in the lead up to Christmas product launch, including an exciting range of vegan desserts and savoury options.
